Contributed Abstracts: required details for submission
Abstracts for oral presentations or poster presentations are accepted. They need to adhere to the broad theme of the conference. However, abstracts of specialized topics will also be accepted and will be grouped under special sessions which run parallel. Posters will be displayed for two days and special sessions dedicated to posters will allow in-depth discussion between authors and attendees.
Please indicate your preference for an oral or poster presentation, and please adhere to the following guidelines while preparing your abstract for an oral presentation:
Oral presentation:
- Oral presentations will be limited to 15 minutes, and 5 minutes for questions and discussions.
- The abstract should include new information and not the ones that have been presented at previous meetings or similar conferences.
- The abstract should include specific information about the results and conclusions of the research. Abstracts that state "results will be discussed" will not be accepted.
- The abstract should have a clear connection to canopy science.
- Contributed oral presentations will be grouped by topics under various themes.
- If your abstract is accepted but cannot be accommodated as an oral presentation, you will be notified as soon as possible, so that you will have ample time to prepare a poster
- Individuals are limited to presenting only one oral or poster presentation. If your name appears on more than one presentation, make sure you are listed as the presenter for only one of them.
- Please submit the proposal by using the “online abstract submission form” under the “Submission button” of the website. In case, you encounter problems with the "online abstract submission form", please post the abstract as a word document attachemnet, as specified in the online form format, to the following e-mail address: secretary@canopy2009.org
Abstract review process: In line with the organizing committee’s commitment to high quality science, abstracts will be submitted to a stringent review process. Through this process, submitted abstracts will either be allocated to contributed talks, poster presentations or rejected.
